AMBIGUITY | independent short, 2021
Ambiguity is a short film following Pastor Oliver Hartwell, as he watches his church become infected with conspiracy, and questions his deep-rooted faith for the very first time. With the arrival of a bumbling, charismatic new Associate Pastor, Oliver observes as his congregation finds a new leader amongst the chaos of the world.

In a healthy mix of dark comedy and psychological drama, this film is meant to shed light on the growing issue of widespread misinformation that lives among American churches, specifically in southern communities. It is currently in the middle of a festival run. The film was written & directed by Blake.
THE ANOMALY | independent short, 2020
The Anomaly is a sci-fi mystery short film that follows Noelle Stertzbach, a young graduate of Environmental Science, as she navigates her way through a mysterious piece of land deep in the mountains. Told she must take a recently developed drug in order to combat the potential side effects of the site, she complies, eager to get started on her job. Though she quickly develops a dependence to the drug, distancing her from her original intentions, and slowly warping her reality.
The hope of this film was to create some conversation on the opioid crisis, and the true evil of Big Pharma. The film has received global recognition from a number of film festivals, including Cannes World Film Festival, Mindfield Film Festival, and Festival Angaelica. The Anomaly was co-written, co-produced, and co-directed by Blake alongside his creative cohort, Dawson Bryant.
When The Tree Calls | independent short, 2022
When The Tree Calls is a quirky, dark comedy/mystery short film about a man, deep in a state of financial stress, who discovers a tree that seamlessly generates money. As he tests the limits of his lottery-level discovery, he soon learns of the consequences presented by the tree's mysterious nature.

The film is, at its essence, a story about greed, and how sometimes greed is ultimately the result of how our society is structured. It was written and directed by Blake.
